i know everyone will think i'm a wimp for still using 10"s but i've
got weak girl fingers. anyway, i've gotten some rotoreds (11's) to
give a try on my strat. do i have to adjust the truss rod for the
heavier strings or is it ok to leave things as they are?
I'd say put the strings on, then adjust accordingly. You may find you
won't need an adjustment. I've had some guitars that would nee da big
adjustment after going up a gauge and others that didn't
Funny you mention strings. I was teaching my girlfriend some simple
stuff and I thought, well the Jaguar would be easier for someone with
small hands and just learning. But the thick strings were really
rough on her.

It really depends on what you playing, when I'm doing alot of pedal
steel licks I need to use 9's or I just can't pull it off. When I]m
playing Hawaiian Slack Key I play 13's but I not going to bend worth a
crap unless I rig a car jack to my fingers.
