the PYRAMIDS

Unsteady Freddie (schizofredric) - 29 Jun 2005 05:59:06

got this email from DRAKE an original member of the PYRAMIDS:
Freddie,
Don't know if anyone reported to you the result of the show. Sold
out, SRO (425+) the event began at 8:15 pm after Wil's first set. One
movie screen and two big screens up high came on with a cameo from
Don Rickles introducing the Pyramids in the movie Bikini
Beach.......... "and now ladies and gentlemen for your listening
pleasure.........THE PYRAMIDS! We opened with "Record Run" (from the
movie), then "Sea Cruise" and "Here Comes Marsha". "Bikini Drag"
opened with a drum solo Ron and I worked out over the last few weeks
and included two more "Wipe Out" type solos that brought the entire
crowd to their feet with three standing ovations. Haven't felt a rush
like that since we opened for the Stones in San Diego on 11/01/64.
I have two sons, Cory 34 and Kasey 32. They have heard me play the
drums before, but never in a band. After we completed the set
(another seven numbers including our hit Penetration) they would not
stop hugging the old man. That was the highlight of my night. With
many friends there and many I did not know, the response was
overwhelming and unanimous.........you guys ROCK!...Where have you
been for the last 40 years? There were three video cameras and a
multi-track (ADAK?) system recording everything so we are waiting to
see the outcome. Just thought you might have an interest. Hope all is
well Freddie.
All my best,
Drake
HOW TOTALLY RAD & COOL IS THAT?
"PENETRATION" RULES!!
