60's surf update

mono_tones_1 - 27 Jun 2005 03:41:25

hi guys
just ordered the Atlantics CBS thing vol. 1, and, just because they
had it, a Pyramids cd from a german internet store (not crypt, but
thanks for the link).
and the much recoomended toes on the nose comp from amazon.
all very reasonably priced.
E&SM's squad car IS on amazon, prices ranging from 35 to 60 (!)
dollars. given that the taxman adds me another 40% on the toatal
bill, incl S&H included, on anything over $25 , that would be over 60
bucks for the cheapest option, hell no. btw, Amazon's top review is
by reluctant aquanaut bill!
Just thought I'd let you know, to show all your enthusiastic response
on the thread IS appreciated and followed up on.
WR, much obliged.
PS incedently, my horoscope in todays newspaper said that today I
should hold of on making any financial commitments. that god I don't
believe that BS, or I would have had to leave my credit card unused.

The prices for Squad Car are ridiculous. I bought it sometime last
year, after it was out of print, and I think I paid around 12 bucks
for it.

I still have a bid in on an original Atlantics LP on
eBay. For around $15 it's not bad, but add another
$15 for shipping from Australia and I'm coughing up a
chunk o change. I bid on the album because it was the
one featured in that video that Klaus linked to a
while back. Hopefully I can still lay my hands on the
CD's at some point. I have still yet to even hear The
Atlantics...I'm buying purely based on what I've heard
here.
I wound up breaking down and buying Eddie & The
Showmen's "Squad Car" a while back for $27 plus s&h.
The VERY NEXT DAY one came up on my half.com wishlist
for like $9. Eeergh. It was worth it though. He
really did have "that" sound.
