I'm addicted to Rotosound Purples (12-52). They're nickel
roundwounds, and they sound phenomenal for surf music. If you're
gonna use roundwounds, these are the ones to use. I think even Dave
Wronski is using them on his purple Jag - and he's a dedicated
flatwound guy! Marty also was complimentary about them. Maybe a few
other people?
I recently put D'Addario 12-52 on one of my Strats, and didn't like
them at all compared to the Rotos. And I used to only use
D'Addarios! But they just sounded brittle, felt wrong, didn't last as
long. Rotos simply rule.
You can get them through juststrings.com - which is the only place I
ever buy strings anymore. Too expensive everywhere else. Oh, and
Rotosound guitar strings are not that common (unlike their bass
strings).

Yeah, I do like the the Rotosound nickles for roundwound applications. I'm using
Grays (13's) and Reds (11's) on a couple of strats.
