I use a program called "Audio Hijack" that allows me to record
streaming music onto my hardrive. Essentially converting it into a
podcast. I'm sure there's other programs available for download that do
the same thing.

yeah, I know, it's long, but it's got some great stuff there huh?
edition #21 is pod-cast available
#22 is coming in that format too
although people can use certain programs to 'record' a show that
streams, for now, we are not offering it as a download (as I
understand it from my Program Director, there are certain copyright
issues at stake here; music on our 'show' is played with an
artist's permission for now - this sort of implies we are not making
it available for sale, re-sale etc.; eventually all the licensing
fees will be straightened out with My Real Broadcast and this won't
be an issue)
but yours points are valid and under serious consideration
