Yep, he does use tape echo. I am not sure if he uses Fuzz pedals.
maybe on occasion. All his sound comes from a Tweed Deluxe. I've read
him go pretty indepth on one that he likes a lot. He has 10 back ups
but only one produces "the sound"
I've always thought Neil Young was the most "Rock" of anybody on the
planet. That opinion comes from his set-up, his music, and how he
acts. The man is a bad ass. And he writes really great music. He has
such a command over different styles. He can write great folk/country
ballads, like Long May You Run, Heart of Gold, or Harvest, and he can
write some great rock numbers like Rockin' in the Free World, Like a
Hurricane, or Cinnamon Girl.

-Jacob,
I have to agree, Neil is a great person and Musician in my book.
I was fed a steady diet of Led Zep, Sabbath and Neil Young from
my Dad as a kid growing up. I don't listen to Neil much anymore.
But when a song comes on the radio, it takes me back to my childhood,
watching my dad just diggin' the vibe of Neil.
Funny connection there.
When my dad was in boot camp before going to Vietnam.
He used to drive from So. Cal. to Bay area for weekend leave.
One time he picked up a hitch hiker. It was Neil Young, he asked my
Dad if he minded if he lit up a joint. My dad said not at all, and
they shared it. Too funny.
