Another sighting:
Search for "ZOW! Surf Guitar 101 Compilation!" on the page. People
have left (mostly off topic) comments too.
I just had my largest bandwidth hit yesterday, 3 GB already this
month. That's 10% of my monthly allowance, and it's what, June 2nd
already...

I see that www.surfguitar101.com has been disabled, has this recent
publicity been too much of a good thing?

Is there a Torrent for the MP3 comp?
It would probably help your bandwidth if there was.
I keep forgetting to download those....

Crap. I see that 50% of my bandwidth for the month is already gone. My
web hosting service disabled the site. I will ask them what's up.

I'm not going to be at my home machine until late tonight, but if no
one's posted one by then I can have a torrent out tomorrow.

Well apparently the mp3 comp used 16 GB in 12 hours which is some kind
of record for my service provider (at least the way they are acting
about it). I'm guessing that the link to the page got passed around to
more and more blogs and websites and it snowballed out of control.
They had no choice but to pull the plug. I told them to leave it
disabled until I get back from vacation. Maybe we'll think of some
alternatives by then. Thanks to anyone who mirrors the files or starts
a torrent. I guess this somehow got way too popular which is actually
quite stunning and flattering all at the same time (but still stucks).
Is there that many people interested in surf music? Or is it just the
idea of free mp3's? Well, we had our 15 minutes of fame, for now.
Satan's Pilgrims tonight!

I'm new so perhaps this was discussed already, but. .
.
Why not put the comp up on archive.com and via
BitTorrent
so you don't have to individually upload to everyone?
There are resources available to spread the bandwidth
for free, legal releases like this.

Or even archive.org ;-)
Great idea, BTW. Does anyone know why this wouldn't
work?
Curious,
Rick
