Cheap hard case for Jag?

Richard (errant_jedi) - 25 Oct 2002 18:46:54

Ok, I just got my BRAND SPANKIN' NEW CONDITION vintage
white Squier Vista Jagmaster, and I wound up selling
my gigbag with my old guitar to cover the price. :)
So I was wondering, how odd is the Jaguar body shape
in proportion to other guitars? I'm afraid I don't
have any strats lying around here, so I'm not sure if
I could just pick up any standard hardcase and expect
it to fit. It would seem that the body's wider. I
really don't wanna go to Musicians Friend and pay $130
for a hardcase and there don't seem to be any Jag
cases floating around eBay. Anybody wanna tell me
what they use, if not the case the guitar came with?
Thanks.
~R
PS - I'm about to sell an Allparts Mustang Bridge in
new condition, some Allparts Srat bridge saddles still
in the package and a new blue Fender Lace Sensor on
eBay. If anybody here might be interested in any
those items, let me know, save me the trouble of
listing it and I can help someone on here out.

Hi Richard,
I bought an exact copy of a vintage Jazzmaster case for $53, brand new
from E-bay.
It was made in China I think, it has the beautiful Yellow/Brown tolex on
the outside and nice brown soft pluche on the inside.
It fits my Jazzmaster as a Glove, I bought it as a Fender Vintage case
from a German Music shop for $ 40, the rest were the shipping costs to
Belgium.
I would suggest looking around; I wouldn't be surprised to see that
similar cases are available in the U.S. for the same price.
I also first asked around for a case in the shop where I got the guitar
from, they said it would cost me $200 to $250.
Good hunting,
Jerry S. from Belgium
