Nebulas This Saturday (Tomorrow Night)

Brian Neal (xarxas) - 27 May 2005 17:59:13

I just remembered that The Nebulas are playing tomorrow night. Wish I
could be there:
Hey Nebulas, how was the recent show opening for Dick Dale?

Brian,
Opening for Dick was incredible. The night before we had played a bomber
of a gig in NYC and without speaking for the rest of the band, it really
pissed me off, so I really needed that Dick crowd to get me back up.
It really is an incredible experience to play to an entire room of surf
fans. It's quite surreal actually, and it really brings out something in
your stuff that isn't there when the room is dead. Never once did we see
Dick, but we did get to see Sam briefly before our show. I was on the verge
of stomping Froto Baggins into the ground at chess when sam showed up and
ran interference for him. Till we meet again Nebula 4!
So by popular demand we wore skull masks. And as usual, before every show
we say "This time they stay on the WHOLE show!" but halfway through,
(again...as usual) we wind up pulling them off as we're practically
suffocating in them.
The post-performance highlight came when we sold the merch bag dry. Hell,
people were propositioning Eric to buy parts of his outfit! Playing is a
blast but it always feels so much better when you know you just liquidateda
ton of product which will help pay for the next album, tour, whatever...
Oh, and we sold clean out of our first album "Nebula 1", so for those who
don't have it yet, better get it cause the supply has run dry.
Brian, I'll tell you all about it when we meet up in Portland next week.
FOR SATAN'S PILGRIMS!
Sorry, had to yell.

You know, it's funny, I don't picture the Nebulas as the kind of band
that sits quietly back stage waiting for the show to begin by playing
chess! Were you guys smoking pipes too? And was TFJ wearing a comfy
sweater in a big leather arm chair reading Aristotle? :-)
Seriously, can't wait to see 3/4ths of the Nebulas at the SP shows!
Knock 'em dead at your gig tonight...
