MP3 Comp Vol 1 Artwork Swag!!!!

Brian Neal (xarxas) - 16 May 2005 14:02:11

John Detrich, who did the killer cover art for the comp, has opened up
a Cafe Express store featuring said artwork. Check it out here:
All profits (if any) go directly to John (I've got nothing to do with
this)...so buy buy buy! I know I will pick up a few things...

I want to through major kudos over to John for the
artwork. I didn't submit anything, and now I am really
kicking myself because the comp is soooo cool. Awesome
music, awesome cover!!!!
John has also donated artwork to the upcoming KFJC
Surf Battle 2, which will be held on June 19 in San
Francisco. You can see a small preview of the poster
at:
We will have 11x17 posters for sale at some point, and
any profits will go to KFJC.
(And, it is definitely to early to confirm this, BUT,
KFJC might do a live broadcast of the entire event,
but hey, fly into SF anyway, it is going to be a
helluva show with 14 SF surf bands, and featuring a
set of Woodies songs by Rick Escobar)
Thanks again John!

I just got my poster and it's sweet!! My kids loved it! They did a
good job on the quality of the paper and printing. I've got some other
stuff on the way, I'll report back when I get that stuff.
Thanks again John!

I picked up an XL Ringer T-shirt and mouse pad which arrived recently.
The XL is very big, I should have got a large. It's a nice shirt
though and the artwork came across very well. The stitching on the
back of the neck ring thingy is kinda weird though. The mouse pad is
very cool. So overall I am very happy. The only quibble I had was the
price on the stuff, but like someone told me, it's no worse than
anything else these days. But given what the products represent to me,
AND the totally killer artwork (again THANK YOU JOHN), I couldn't
resist buying some stuff.
The whole mp3 comp thing was pretty neat in the end. I wasn't sure at
first. I hope I can contribute next time. Thanks again everyone.
