Mosquitos and Pilgrims

Dick Stewart (rvstewartproductions) - 09 May 2005 17:41:49

Last month, when I was editing the presently posted
May issue of TLM, it was Satin's Pilgrims' "Plymouth
Rock, the Best of" that kept me entertained with
multiple spins.
Now its the Atomic Mosquitos' turn with "Release the
Mosquitos."
Even though I cater to the groups that maintain more
of The Venture style with minimal double picking, I
will say that these two CDs are exceptional in their
performances. They're all excellent musicians and very
tight, with nice arrangements, and catchy melodies. I
recommend both CDs highly for immediate purchase!
Look for an interview with Satin Pilgrim's Scott "Fox"
Pilgrim in June's issue of TLM, as well as a Paterson
review of the Atomic Mosquitos' hot new CD.
The featured interview will be "Up Close with Michael
Z. Gordon" (member of the Mark-ets and writer of "Out
of Limits"). He couldn't wait to get out of South
Dakota (where he grew up) and make his mark in L.A.
This will be a very in-depth, straightforward
interview. Many thank to Duke for opening the door.
