I'm listening to "Malibu Run" by the Fender IV at the moment
Do I detect a "ska meets klezmer" beat here?
Haven't heard this track in a while, and that really jumped out at me.....
And a distant cousin to "Apache" as a chorus too!

They also do a ska thing like that on "Everybody Up!". When we asked
Randy Holden about that he just kinda shrugged it off like it was a
common thing.
I was talking to Ivan about "Everybody Up", and he thought that it
sounded sped up, as the key is close to F and at certain points the
lead guitar is quite insanely fast. We also asked Randy about this and
he couldn't remember.
In general I have a hard time figuring out some of those 60's songs
because the speed is never quite right, thus putting it out of
standard tuning.
