So I am looking to get a little more tone/volume from the bottom three
strings on my strat-like Squier Showmaster CIY guitar. Seymour Duncan
sell the "SSL52-1 Five Two" pick-ups which have two different types of
Alnico magnets and "gives more punch on the bottom end". I use
Nickelrocker 11's.
I have a P-90 Phat Cat in the bridge and that is one hot pick-up, but
a little soft on the low strings. I was thinking of putting the Five-
two in the middle to play in the 2 switch position.
-Has anyone had experience with the Five-Two?
-Is the low response a question of guitar set-up, wood (bass on this
guitar I believe) and strings rather than electronics?
