All who might know,
One of the Bitch Boys (Slovainian surf band) was asking me how much
old ones go for. Any Idea? I assumed around 600. Close? or no cigar?

If ebay is any kind of indicator, Vintage Fender tanks are going for
ridiculously high amounts of $$$$$. $700.00 and up is not uncommon. The
reissues are also too high (IMHO), but not as bad yet. The reissues can be
made to sound as good as the old ones with a few mods. Search the archives on
the Fender Forum...lots of info there.

one thing I'll add to the old/new 'verb tank issue - they both seem to hold
their value about the same. The new ones are staying around $250-350 and the
old ones are $600-1200 depending on condition, but not rising much. Old
guitar stuff seems to have slowed down as far as appreciation goes.... I'd
say with SRV having been dead some 12 years now, the quest for vintage tone
in the mainstream has given way to the Les Paul/Marshall crowd once again.
