Luau By The Lake 2005 Update

Unsteady Freddie (schizofredric) - 20 Apr 2005 21:21:08

sent this post by Amy Carter re: "Luau By The Lake 2005", and thought it was
worthy of passing on to the Yahoo Groups:
Duke Carter and Eddie Angel present Chicago Exotica — 4 days of music,
merriment and mai-tais July 7–10. There will be celebrations of tiki
all weekend long with the centerpiece being an all-day tiki party at
Fitzgerald's music club in Berwyn, just west of the city. Performers
include Los Straitjackets, The World Famous Pontani Sisters, Kaiser
George, Petty Booka, The Hi-Risers, The Neanderthals, The Exotics, The
Cocktail Preachers, Nebula, The Medeira, Jon Rauhouse, The Windy City
Islanders, Penthouse Playboys, and King Kukuele.
Tickets and more information will be available at
www.pegboardchicago.com/exotica
sounds like a total blast; I'm working out plans to attend;
maybe see some of you there!

I'm very glad to see they are doing this again, and this time it's an
even bigger event than in 2003. My wife and I went to the 2003 show,
and it was such a good time! We have a few pictures of that here:
Too bad the Volcanos are not on the bill this time though. They were
on FIRE that night! Wow, I still smile when I think about that. As I
understand it, The Cocktail Preachers organized the band aspect of the
event in '03, and they did a great job (although there was something
fishy about the venue and the Chicago fire department...)
Also, please no burlesque dancers this year...it was one of those
things that didn't turn out like you might expect =:-0
(However I have heard The Pontani Sisters may be involved this year;
they are *much* better at their craft than the "entertainment" in 03).
That's awesome that The CP's, The Nebulas, and The Madeira are getting
involved in such a high profile gig! Congratulations guys!!!!
I'll probably try to be there again this year. Freddie and I will duke
it out in the parking lot afterwards for those interested (Just
kidding Freddie! Who loves ya?)
