I saw Willy Glover 2 times this past week, playing with the
Torquays, and also with the The Chantays, and Surfaris at the Jim
Pash Benefit.
He was also plugging that besides him doin his Country boogie woogie
music(with his band). That the Pyramids would be all getting back
together for a Reunion set of about 45 min.
Here's the info:
sunday june 26
6 p.m.
crazy horse at irvine spectrum
tickets are $25
I don't have a phone number or address, but the Spectrum is at the
intersection of the 5 and the 405 freeways in the
Movie/entertainment/food area.
Hope it's good, I've got my fingers crossed.

Wow....just another item to file under the "future looks so bright"
thread we had a while back. I so envy you California guys. I would
love to see that. Will they shave their heads again? Do back flips off
the stage? Ride in on elephants? Man I really love their version of
Midnight Run compared to all the other covers. The Super Stocks
version is so pristine and shiny, while The Pyramids have a kind of
aggressive/raunchy take on it that still has a kind of sad tone to it.
If anyone goes (Jeff?) please post a report. Many thanks!
Jeff, how did Willy do with The Torquays, and how was the Pash benefit?
BN
-Brian,
I'm sure you've heard reports before of the older bands not really
doin the sound right.
Well lets just say the sound and the playing were a bit to be
desired. Not bad, just not surf. more chuck berry 50's rock style.
I'm real aprehensive about spending 25 bucks to see bad versions of
Pyramids songs, that the younger bands do way better.
I will defentily give a report.

I hear you about the younger bands doing it better. Over the past
couple years I have heard several first wave bands doing their stuff
recently and have been unimpressed. The Varatones sure have kept it up
though.
