Self absorbed individuals

Monty Roach (mont7669) - 11 Apr 2005 10:45:30

I was just catching up on my e-mails and read David Rosenburgs remarks to
BN. I have been into surf music for quite some time. I remember BN helping
me out a long time ago, even before surf guitar 101 was born. He has ALWAYS
been helpful, enthusiastic and very friendly. I was shocked long ago when he
returned my e-mail with the answer to my question. I believe it was
something from the Man or Astroman page, any way it really doesn't matter.
The point I am trying to make here is that most of us has NEVER heard of
this Rosenburg guy. Who is he to say and call BN such things. I know with
your kind of attitude, you will never get a sale or money out of me. Lesson
here should be tread lightly, most of us here on the list are the ones
buying the music. Thank you again Brian for all your hard work from the past
to the present. You have given us all a fun place to communicate.

I don't think I ever saw this exchange. Was it promplty deleted?
Anyways Strange Dave Rosenberg doesn't really play surf music. I have
no idea why he calls it such. Check out myspace for his music. The
Ventures Play the Classics is much more surf. Anything is more surf
than Dave's music.

Check out Reverborama, Jake. Or not. You may be better off with
not.
It has nothing to do with SG101, thank God. Our refuge from
insanity that is other surf music lists....

Maybe I will. With all the stuff that has been said about the other
groups I have never visted Cowabunga or Reverborama. I was lucky
enough to discover SurfGuitar101 what must be 3-4 years ago and never
finding the others.
You band should get a Myspace page. All the cool bands are doing it.
Pollo is on there, The Nebulas, Satan's Pilgrims, Man... or
Astro-Man?, The Reluctant Aquanauts, and Dave Arnson has a page as
well. Forgive me if I have forgotten anybody.

The other groups have their downfalls, but there's still useful
information exchanged on occasion. There's real strong members on
cowabunga that are not of SG101.
Jeff brought up a good point once: there's new people joining cowabunga
all the time. We shouldn't shy away from posting there because that may
be the only way the newer members find out about CDs and shows. The best
thing to do is to ignore the posts we don't like and move on.
yeah, myspace is working out pretty well. I like the setup, but still
like my yahoo groups as well.

I appreciate the support, but I feel really, really bad about what is
happening and would just soon not discuss it here (or anywhere)
further. Rip Thrillby built up something really cool, and it is very
sad to me to see it get pissed on like that. And if I had any part in
instigating that black cloud of hate I am truly sorry. Please, let's
end this thread here and get back to something fun. If you feel you
must reply, please do so off-list. Thank you.
