A few years ago on ebay I bought a theremin kit for around $50 from a guy
called
Theremaniac and it does a perfect siren as well as zombie groans, laser-blasts,
birdie
calls, spaceship landings,... You can even play it with the headstock of your
guitar and it
plugs right into your amp.
