I just picked up an older Silvertone guitar and want to do some
general fixing/polishing up. I haven't done this before so I'm not
sure if there is anything to look out for or the best methods to do it
by or products to use.
I've got kind of a laundry list of things I intend to work on. So any
additions, an instructive website, or advice would be greatly
appreciated.
-Cleaning up the fretboard, headstock, and body
-Polish up frets and metal work (the switchplate is spotty maybe the
beginnings of rust spots).
-Grease? Clean? the String tuners so they aren't as hard to rotate.
-Adjusting the truss rod, how much is too loose?
Would it be worthwhile for someone other than myself check it out?
