Hey, my name's Warren, and I'm a college student from Southern
California. I stumbled across this group from a link on Brian Neal's
Man or Astroman? tab page, and quickly got hooked on the board.
Didn't take long before I got tired of lurking.
As far as gear goes, I have a terrible practice amp, a Fender Strat,
a Squier Jagmaster (I'm too broke for the real thing), and I recently
acquired a Yamaha SGV 300 (I wish it was an 8000, but for $250 I'm
definitely not complaining.)
I probably got into surf music back in '97 or so, when I bought a
Playstation game (Felony 11-79) featuring music by the Surf Coasters.
I was floored by the soundtrack. ("Dolphins '97," "Start
Inaction," "Big Buzz," "Theme From Runabout," "Endless Brightness"
and "The Winner," if I remember correctly.)
Since then, and especially recently, surf music has started to take
over my record collection, which used to be limited almost entirely
to punk. I haven't really bought a lot of recent surf albums (After
all, I gotta get caught up on the Ventures, first), but it's just a
matter of time.
Anyways, the surf tab sites I've found so far have been great, but
I'm looking for a few songs for which no one seems to have tabs. I,
of course, have a terrible ear for that sort of thing, which is why
I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. (Well, I'm
also not a very good guitarist, but I guess that's besides the point.)
I'm wondering, does anyone have tabs or chords for the following
songs?
Anyone's rendition of "Church Key"
Centurions- "Surfing at Mazatlan"
Dick Dale & the Del-Tones- "Del-Tone Rock"
Ventures- "Cookout Freakout on Lookout Mountain"
Ventures- "Driving Guitars (Ventures Twist)"
Ventures- "Ginchy"
Ventures- "Guitar Freakout"
Ventures- "Mod East"
Unfortunately, I don't really have any tabs of my own to offer in
return; just some fragmented Surf Coasters stuff I figured out.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot.
ditto the tab q's...thanks, ezra
