The new Yahoo look / Yahoo email problems?

Brian Neal (xarxas) - 03 Apr 2005 12:15:40

No one has commented on the new look Yahoo forced upon us; I hated it
at first and actually complained about it, but now I think it's okay.
They also suddenly started counting the "bouncing" members in the
total number of members, so suddenly our group size went up by 100 or
so. I got rid of some of the old members whose emails are no longer
valid to bring us down closer to reality.
In more distressing news, I have about 3 email addresses registered
with Yahoo, but I have found that:
1) If I post from one of them, Yahoo rejects the message saying "you
aren't a member of this group".
2) One of them works just fine. Gee, it's the Yahoo one, imagine that.
3) If I post from my Google mail account, the message goes through and
makes it to the Yahoo website, but I don't get a copy mailed back to
me (which is important as I am anally saving away every message from
this group for future posterity/blackmail purposes).
Anyone else having email problems? Email me OFF LIST if you do.
Again, that's OFF LIST.
Thanks.

Wow, I just got a partial answer from Yahoo tech support. It seems
that all of a sudden, you can only post messages to this group from
your primary email address now. I know this wasn't the case a while
back. So I fired back, "then what good is an alternate email address"?
You can't do anything with it, it seems. That just makes no sense at
all to me. And I am sure this used to work.
So let me ask those of you who post messages via email (not the web
interface) AND receive messages from the group via email (not in
digest mode). When you post a message via email, do you get a copy
mailed back to you by Yahoo? Please reply to me off list. Thanks.

The only thing I don't like about the new look is the spacing of the
lines. Not in the text boxes where we write but where the messages go.
It takes up a lot more space and is harder to browse a larger number
of messages.
