replace my twin with? your opinion please......

mom_surfing - 01 Apr 2005 06:33:47

i've got a fender deluxe reverb and a reissue reverb tank that i use
alsost exclusively and also have a twin as a back up. but, i've found
the twin is just too heavy to lug around so i mostly use it for
friends that pop in to play.i've been thinking about trading it in for
something lighter and not so loud and am still searching for that
perfect surf sound. any suggestions? carol

How about a Vibroluxe, or a Vibroverb?

I'm all over that new Custom Vibrolux (40 Watts), I've been using it in place of
a Twin anytime I can. I love it. It reminds of the time I discovered that sword
fish was a good alternative to steak. (that's probably the silliest analogy I'll
make)

"the perfect surf" sound may be found in numerous amps. I had an
early 70's silverface (non-reverb) Princeton amp that was light and
sounded great with my RI tank. Right now my portable amp is a Blues
Jr. pretty light, nice tone, even gets a little dirty while you're
playing Jack the ripper -Phillip
