that is NOT regional.

Greetings Mr. Dude:
I agree with you on all counts.
My MWSMA idea is not a serious one. The phrase "turf wars" appears on
the NESMA site, and I was "riffing" (note: I did not say "ripping") on
that. The NESMA site hints that there is some kind of East Coast vs
West Coast surf grudge, like we are gangsta' rappers or something. So
in my attempt at humor I was creating a (fictitious) shadowy
organization based in the Midwest to take on the two coasts.
But again, I was joking... I have nothing against NESMA; it sounds
like it has helped get a lot of bands gigs and exposure. Good for Mike
and crew. However, and I told Mike this in a private email, I didn't
see the "West Coast vs. East Coast" thing at all.
(Well...except I'm purposely leaving out of the discussion the few
individuals from that band that must not be named that was dissing all
bands not from So Cal on Cowabunga and Reverborama in the recent past.
Those guys are just nuts... )

Brian,
I think for the most part. The general surf crowd here has
Blacklisted them. Too bad, but seems that's what they were going for,
by talking shit on everybody including people that were their fans.
