My band...

almannia88 - 24 Mar 2005 22:18:42

I was wondering what you all think of my band's cover of pipeline.
The recording quailty is poor and we have played much better live.
But anyway here's the link:
Thanks

Hey these are the "kids" I was talking about in the "future looks so
bright" topic.

Nice!!! And you even have an organ! It is very reassuring to know that
even in this day and age a bunch of young kids are playing Pipeline in
their garage. I will sleep much better tonight. You give us all hope.
Take that Ashlee Simpson!

You make me wanna la la, la la. If that isn't the worst song ever I
don't know what is.
And I do enjoy the Pipeline. The midwest surf scene isn't looking so
bad is it?

It must suck being 16 or however young you are. Can you guys play
bars? In Seattle you have to be 18 to play a bar. Also unless your
parents are rich you probably don't have much gear coming your ways
unless you have really good jobs.

Yeah...! I'm gonna have to form some kind of NESMA for the Midwest to
fight off all the turf wars with you West & East Coast guys... ;-)
MWSMA?
The future really is looking bright! Satan's Pilgrims, The Ghastly
Ones, a MoAM DVD, and more kids joining the surf fold. I think I can
just about count on The Apemen coming to our neighborhood bar next
weekend... =:-O
Man this is the most I've ever posted in one night. I'm so lame...

Awww the poor guys! They are missing out on all the crappy club
owners, asshole promoters, and the BIG BUCKS(yeah right)! If you
want to make any money in Chicago you'll stay away from a majority
of the bars. But if you play surf I guess you aren't in it for the
money :)
I don't think you really need "good" gear for surf. Hey guys, just
keep playing and having fun. Don't let "old man" Jacob upset you.

I really meant cool gear not good gear. Having lots of gear is awesome.

I think it's a really good cover...very cool with the
organ doing the piano part. It's better than a lot of
covers of it I've heard and much more surfy as well.

I think there may be a future for "The Common Good" in the surf world, I hope
you keep at it, I'm looking forward to hearing more from you guys!
I think your cover of pipeline is "classic!" Great job!
Hey Brian,
MWSMA? I'm having difficulty with the pronunciation? :^) LOL
But I think it would be a great Idea.
Is there really a "turf" war between coasts? I don't really think so, although
There are a "few" insecure souls who would think there should be.
Personally, I think we are all in the "surf" family, whether it be classic,
vintage, neo, psycho, progressive, punkish, east coast, west coast, midwest, UK,
Russian............. need I go on?
It is all surf, to each there own, and I think there is enough room in this
world for "ALL" surf musicians and fans to live in harmony?
OK, so now I'm ready to get BLASTED, but I really do think it is the minority
who would be so narrow minded as to think it matters where you are from, when in
total reality, it is the music that counts. And that is NOT regional.
Humbly yours to "shred",
Stewd...........................................................................\

Thanks for listening, I'm glad there are surf fans out there! If there
is any one from IL, we have a show the 15th of April in Rockford, you
should check us out. Thanks again for all your support.
