I very much hope you'll forgive this commercial, self-interested
interruption, but I thought (hoped?) a few of you may be interested in
this.
I just put my amp from the Space Cossacks days on sale on eBay. It is a
Fender Custom Vibrasonic, and I recorded both Interstellar Stomp and Tsar
Wars with it as my primary amp. In addition, the vast majority of the
gigs I played with the Cossacks were played through this amp. I don't
mean to imply it's 'legendary' or any other BS like that - only that if
you like that sound, well, now it can be yours. Look at:
I think the Vibrasonic strikes a great compromise between the power and
low-end of the Showman and the (relative) portability and compactness, as
well as the classic tone, of the Twin Reverb. I hate to sell it, but I've
barely used it in two years, and I recently got the itch to buy a Fender
Dual Professional, so I need to sell SEVERAL amps to afford that beast!
Anyway, thanks for reading this far, and again, pardon the annoyance.

hey Ivan - I use a Dual Pro for surf - took out the speakers to make
it lighter and use a bandmaster cab with one JBL K120 and one EVM 12.
it is a fantastic amp - you don't need an outboard reverb - it
doesn't rattle on stage - look around and I bet you'll find one for
less than a grand - there's a guy in a music store in Albuquerque
selling his it has Fane speakers in it - let me know if you're
interested and I'll hook you guys up
