Hey, collective hugs and kisses on the forehead to all those who reached out to
wish me well.
I checked in to NYC's Roosevelt Hospital emergency room at 5 am today, had been
up all night in screaming agony, lower right back area.
It turns out it was a kidney stone -- so big they had to call a geologist
instead of a urologist!! (OK one of the surf drummers give me a rim-shot
please!).
Was given morphine all day - and those that know me personally know that was a
difficult decision to make -- I may be "unsteady" but sometimes my "inner adult"
comes out (hate when that happens!!).
And the "operation" went smoothly, around 130, 200 pm -- told it took 10
minutes.
And considering WHERE on my body I was being operated on, it came in handy to be
"naked from the waist down"!!!
And now you're gonna love this part -- and this can only happen to Unsteady
Freddie --- and I'm not making this up, I swear: guess what my doctor's name
was? DR. WEINER. I am not kidding folks! At least his first name wasn't
RICHARD! is that classic or what?
I am at home resting now, discharged around 8 pm, and I am gonna take the day
off tomorrow -- lay back and listen to twang-drenched surf music all
day....sounds like a plan!!
Was told this "setback" won't affect my trip to London next week which will
include concerts with PROCOL HARUM on Sunday March 6th, and the night before
with THE SEARCHERS, GERRY & THE PACEMAKERS, SWINGIN' BLUE JEANS and MERSEYBEATS
!!
I am so grateful - God gave me another day -- thus, the pain is bullshit, isn't
it?
Unsteady Freddie
