coffin daggers

mono_tones_1 - 21 Feb 2005 05:20:05

... are currently on euro-tour. played my hometown last friday - I
came late hoping to avoid the opening act, the Priscillas, a brittish
four girl garage band, only to find out that the CDs actually went on
first - I only saw about 15 minutes. DAMN, those were great 15
minutes. I bought both cd's they had, a 6-song EP and crypt-o-sounds,
both excellent albums.
the priscillas on the other hand unfortunatly again prooved every
bias I have against all girl garage bands - not be sexist, but I
don't think I ever saw an all girl band that would ave gotten a gig
were they male. (yes, this toppic has been brought up before!)
Mind you, I have seen some that weren't good players, but put on a
great and entertaining show nonetheless, because of enthousiasm and
rock and roll spirit, the regrettes for example, but this time not
so. Oh well, it was a fun night but i was really pissed I missed most
of the coffin daggers.

Actually it IS a cd - but they call it EP, so I figured....sorry,
should have been clearer.
cant find it on the web this quick, but one of the coffin dagger guys
said last friday that the still had 'em and were going to put it up
on their site again. Don't know about the songs cause I am bad with
titles and I played both cd's through the weekend, but it's got
caravan. I didn't see it at zptduda nor at reverb central.
drop 'em an email and Im sure they'll sell you want, if you don't
have it already.

Thanks for the kind words! The Tilburg gig was the best so far. You should
come out and
see us tomorrow (dinsdag) in Sittard if you can, and say hi. Glad you liked our
cd's. We're
having a nice tour so far, we're already arranging to come back. I lived in
Amsterdam for
3 years and am very tempted to move back! These are by far the best audiences
we've
ever played to. America can really stand to learn a thing or two from the low
countries.
Anyway, hope to see you at the next gig. Tot ziens! Viktor (writing from the
boring dorp
of Lichtaart!)
