But it is available at www.zptdudamusic.com, so I hope
all the people that followed this thread will check it
out, or, at the least, listen to the song samples
there. Sorry for this late response to Wannes' well
raeaoned post, and to all who discussed "What is Surf"
in a civilized way. In PDM, rather than call ourselves
a surf band, we say we are an instrumental band with
significant surf influences. Obviously I am a huge fan
of surf music, both traditional and modern. However
the other guys in the band are not so fanatical as I.
I think it would be extremely difficult to get
together 4 players who are totally devoted to surf.
Obviously it does happen for some bands, and in other
cases, one guy talks the other players into doing surf
as a project. They may follow his wishes for a while,
but then I think, they get frustrated- perhaps at the
perceived limitations, or just because they aren't
doing the kind of music they truly love, and the band
breaks up. This is why there are so many bands who get
one or two CDs out and then break up. With PDM,
everybody contributes creatively, diluting any chances
of a pure surf sound, but also accounting for our
longevity.
Thanks,
ferenc

For those who have never ordered off of Zptduda I cannot recommend
them enough. Dave, the guy who runs it, is one of the best guys to
deal with. Shipping is only $1 and the CDs are all are good prices.
The selection cannot be beaten as far as recent releases. The only
thing that could make Zptduda better is if there were more European
bands available but that is the fault of the distributors/labels in
Europe. They do carry the Italian surf bands minus Bradipos IV.

Last time I checked, they were still part of CDBaby.com's $5 sale.
