Iv bought a set of D'addario Chromes high finish ribbon wound o.13-
0.56, Actually I was looking for flatwounds. Is there anyone who can
tell me the difference and are the ribbon wound strings often used
by players of surf?

D'addario Chromes are flatwounds. Flats are often used by surf
guitarists today and of the past.
