Ok, that splains everything, Chris.
Anyone out there who doesn't have "Pray for Surf" has a serious hole in their
collection and is missing out on not only the Paul Johnson story, but the surf
revival story in a big way. It was released almost simulteneously with "Surf
Beat '80", the Jon and the Nightriders album. These two albums were a major one
two punch that woke us up in 1980 to how great surf instro was. "Pray for Surf"
is only 8 songs and is essentially an E.P. but the melodies and guitar playing
style will floor you. It's available on an expanded CD at www.pjmoto.com
-Marty
P.S. The only thing Gospel about "Pray for Surf" is the title. The songs are all
old pre-bornagain P.J., Mr Moto, Tally Ho, Andel'e, Squad Car etc...

No - Is it good? I've heard a coupe snipets from it. The whole
gospel/surf angle has me wary, I don't really know why. I do have
a recent cd called "the surfaris - basic tracks" with Paul on it.
he plays some pretty cool covers on it.
