Wow, that sounds like a review I would have written, but I didn't. I've often
accused the Shads of being too well mannered. I do have the new Final Tour
Shadows DVD. If you like perfection, no chances taken, no rough edges, extreme
politness, every note in it's place, this is for you. I like it for the great
songs, great lead tone and great drummer, even if they need to go a little
easier on the starch.

Does anyone have The Shadows Final Tour DVD?
I just saw a review of it in the new Guitar Player (which also has a '59
Jazzmaster on the cover!). They gave it a pretty mixed review, on one
hand calling Hank Marvin's tone "beautiful", his playing "precise" and
"wonderfully dynamic", but "extremely well mannered". They also poke fun
at the stage choreography and say "don't expect to be thrilled".
Puzzled....
Did anyone hear how their "final" tour went off? Ivan?
