Re: Klas & the Daytonas

Klas Fjellgren (surfites_64) - 25 Jan 2005 15:25:13

Ivan, thanks for the very kind words on the Daytonas!
We really tried to get as trad as we could, sometimes with more
success but other times we were quite disappointed with the result.
However, we think that in the process we sort of created our own
sound and style. Also, I think we were much better live than on any
of the albums although our last release, the double LP "Parabolica"
on the Australian Corduroy label (recorded in 1996, released in 2000)
was IMO our best effort on disc.
There's an almost complete Daytonas discography at the Instromania
website:
"I Love California" was written by band leader Lars Kjellén after
that me and him visited California in the early 90's. We then
returned in 1996 with the rest of the band for a two week California
tour put together by Domenic Priore and we sure had a great time!
