Re: [SurfGuitar101] Need some honest critiquing

Marty Tippens (mctippens) - 25 Jan 2005 11:16:26

Here's my brutal suggestion, Pat,
I know you're just looking for some quick feedback but, as I would say for any
demo, don't let it out until it's recorded properly and you are happy with
everything about it. Sending out "scratch" piece with apologies for sound or
performance quality is not advisable, in my ever so humble opinion.
There used to be this urban myth that you should send out a "diamond in the
rough" so that producers would feel like they could do something with your work.
Wrong! It's gotta sound purdy darn good to get attention.

Hi guys, I need your input!
We were messing around with some recording at our last practice and
the link beow is to our 1st original (the rest of the set is mainly
covers). It's a song I wrote in a hotel room in Florida while
evacuating from the first of two hurricanes that hit our area, and
it's called "Hurricana." Anyways, it's the first Cavefish original,
and I'd appreciate it if I could bounce it off you guys. The
recording is SERIOUSLY lo-fi, so take that into consideration, but be
brutal...
Thanks a million!
