Thanks for the dates, Ivan. I thought those linernotes said it was first but
it's been about 10 years since I read them. Like you, that compilation still
stands out to me as the 'whos who' of surf and the DNA on which everything
else was built. JB, here's to ya!
The Wedge isnt 'bad', no, far from it. It's just different, but a good
different. The drive and vibe of as you said, live musicians versus session
guys even if they were stellar at their craft.
We give DD a lot of hell, but I think we'll all agree he is the King. I can
only imagine how awesome he must've been when he was just a local heavy and
not a national phenom.
