I play a Gretsch 6118 for surf. It is essentially the same as Setzer's
guitar. It sounds so good for surf. The pickups really don't sound
like humbuckers. When you compare it to a Gibson '57 classic or
whatever they use on the Studio les pauls they are so different. Lots
of twang from a Gretsch.
