Re: A Game. In How Many Ways is This Strat A Fake '57

jacobdobner - 04 Jan 2005 14:29:06

A couple other things I noticed. That logo was never used on a Strat.
It may be used these days but it was never used on anything vintage. I
compared it to all of the logos on Jim Shine's site. The lettering of
Stratocasater is either too tall and bold or not long and wavy enough.
Also there are no clay dots which wouldn't make it a '57. There is
also no strip of wood running down the back of the guitar. I don't
know if that was done on a '57 or not but I have seen it on a number
of strats. The pots for the middle knob appears to be much too tall.
Strat owners can confirm this. There is a four letter serial number.
Can any strat owners confirm that the size of the strap button is the
right size?
About what was said about the bolt on neck being bolted in the pocket.
I don't even think those are real screws holding the neck plate in
place. I can't notice any definition that would make them phillips or
flathead.

See this post in context.
