Who was this mystery man? It sounds like a cool lead on some
interesting info. I spent part of the long weekend
learning "Scratch". Have you seen the '86 SouthBay reunion tape?
An interesting side note to this is a few years ago I sold a
Reissue reverb tank on e-bay, and the guy that bought it sent me a
picture of his original 61 showman that the tank was going to be
used with. I asked if he played surf, and he said he was in a band
in the 60's. he said it was one of the incarnations of The Surfmen,
and he played bass with them for a very short while. He got drafted
soon afterwards. I don't remember his name.
after all that, maybe it wasn't so interesting after all.....
