I know there are a few on here who've been following along with
the
Eddie Bertrand "gear site" so I thought I'd give you a little
update. First I've gotten a new computer, which doesn't have
frontpage so updating any of my websites is a challenge right now.
Anyway...
I got a really interesting email this morning from someone who says
they were around at that time a few of the pictures were taken that
I have on the site. He says the reverb tank in the Hollywood Bowl
picture was his and that Rob Edwards was using "his" Bandmaster.
Also the Beach Boys followed and used the same amps.
We had a discussion awhile back about Eddie's "blue Jag" in that
picture being his white guitar touched up. He did verify the guitar
being the white one, however, he said Rob Edwards was often sanding
and refinishing his own guitars and thought Eddie may have done the
same.
He says Eddie had surgury at some point and Larry Carlton played the
lead guitar for awhile, then he went into Larry's guitars. He did
say that he thought everyone bought matching Strats so it is
possible that Eddie had more than just the one Stratocaster.
He then said "Bob Knight or Doug Hensen would know, or ask Eddie if
you can get him to call back."
So there may be a chance I can contact Eddie afterall.
