Bill,
I remember playing in a band during my first marriage, the chicks (that's what
we called them then) were always hitting on me. Yup, it soon led to a divorce.
After the divorce, I couldn't seem to get the attention of a single female! One
night I was discussing this sad fact with a friend who jokingly pointed out,
"you no longer wear a ring on your left hand!"
I laughed and passed it off, however, one night I put my ring back on for the
hell of it, and BAM! you guessed it!
Now, I remain happily single and wear a ring on my left hand at every gig! If I
have to, I'll buy a new guitar!!!
it's cheaper than another divorce! ha ha
What this has to do with your question, I really don't know. Just a little
humorous trivia to share, I guess!

Subject: [SurfGuitar101] quick question for you ring-wearers
This is a general quick poll I'm asking all those married, engaged,
or otherwise "ring on the left hand" wearing guitarists or bassists
out there.
I have worn a ring on my left hand for.... years now, and just the
other day I noticed a few hairline cracks on my less than a year old
Mosrite on the underside binding of the neck. The only thing I can
attribute it to is hitting the side of the neck with my ring when I
fret. Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm trying to remind myself to take the ring off when I play - are
there others out there who do so? Anyone?
