Hey Bill,
I'm a HUGE UY and Deke fan. It's nice to know how he got those
sounds out of a 335...I've got one, and couldn't figure it out. The
instros are great, especially their version of "The Hearse". It's
my fave version of that tune.
The Ecco-fonic 45's have some great Deke instros on them too. I've
got a "Mother's Worry" b/w "Samoa" on Gas Records that is really
good. It would be great to have an all instro Deke release
featuring stuff from his back catalogue. I heard he was trying to
do an all instro album with Larry Collins (Collins Kids) one time,
but haven't heard anything about it in a while.
