GraphTech Saddles, my $0.02

Bong Loard (the_indicators) - 22 Dec 2004 07:29:12

To stop breaking flatwound strings on my Squire Stagemaster, I
installed Graphtechs on the bridge. The stagemaster is a strat-like
guitar w/ a 2 point pivot bridge. I found they gave a "overtone-y"
unpleasant sound made even worse by the spring reverb. So back went
the "metal" (or what ever material that was installed in china)
saddles and the tone improved. The answer to string breakage was to
switch to GHS Nickelrockers 11's, or partially flattened
roundwounds. I think it was a question of string quality. Since
switching, I rarely break a string.
