Yes, JBL speakers are reversed phase of other brands.
If you have a JBL from 1989, it's not a "D" series, it
would be a "E" series with a ceramic magnet. But,
these are also reverse phase. If you have a JBL and
another brand wired together with one polarity
reversed, it will just sound bad with little, or no
bass. It won't hurt anything other than the sound.
