I think what Dave was saying is that you don't want to have a mixed
set of speakers in the same cabinet. Any easy way to tell if your
speakers are in phase with each other is to put a 9 Volt battery
across each set of terminals and watch which way the cone moves.
You'll want all the speakers in the same cabinet to move the same way.
Make sure you consistently put the + terminal of the battery against
the + terminal of each speakers. If you get speakers out of phase in
the same cabinet then they will tend to cancel each other out. If you
have all JBL's then you are probably okay.
