okay, here's the deal:
- bought a cab which needs to be filled up ;-)
I came across to 15" -s:
- a 70's eminence in apareantly good shape, with an alu centre thingy
(don't know the english word) installed, looks properly done.
It's one of those with the giant square block on the back, I have
those in anoher amp (12") and I they sound pretty good.
- an "old" JBL D130F (if that's the number, the showman one in any
case, I'm on dial in now and don't want to get back to the other site)
the thing is, the eminence will be cheap ($50-ish max), the jbl is
advertized for 135 euro's, that would be around 180 bucks.
So, the question is, is that a fair price for the jbl? how
disappointed will I be with the eminence?
consider that I'm not a gearhead in the trad sense, just want good
clean tone. Also consider that I don't actually have 180 bucks, so
that sort of plays a role in the decission as well (yeah right, as if
we never spend "money we don't actually have" on equipment)
