Re: [SurfGuitar101] was Math101/speakertalk - Horns & Flute on Astroglides CD for Marty

Ran Mosessco (kick_the_reverb) - 25 Nov 2004 22:43:09

Thanks for the compliments Marty (and for getting the CD)!
The flute was played by Jonathan, the other guitarist in the band (and a
very talented individual).
For the brass and the other extra instruments (including the "vocals"), we
paid with one cd per person and rides from/to home to whoever needed them.
We searched long and hard for people who would do it for free, and most of
the people we talked to would not even hear about it. But we found a few
that were willing. Of course this had the drawbacks of having to work around
the people's schedules, and not really being able to demand a lot. It turned
out very good in the end for what we had to work with. All those extra
instruments were recorded at home in a tiny room.
BTW - All the people we used turned out to know eachother from playing at
one of of two military bands...Israel is a very small country.
