Rodrigo Kothe (cochabambas) - 14 Nov 2001 10:57:54

Danelectro U2 (reissue, changed the crappy tuners and strap buttons), with
Rotosound 10s
Fender Mustang 74 (acording to a luthier I know, the neck is older - I
wonder if Fender had blank necks in stock from the pre-CBS days) with
Jaguar pickups.
Fender Stage 100 amp (I'd love to have a tube fender amp or a Giannini
tremendao - brazilian fender clone from the 60s, but a transistor amp is
expensive enough already in here and I wouldn't risk gigging with a good
tube amp if I had one)
Fender Reish reverb tank - out of order. One of the tubes is screwed. I
only use it for recording anyway.
Sovtek Big Muff- for some fuzz numbers.
I'm not much of a tradionalist when it comes to gear, first because that's
a bit impossible here in Brazil, unless you're a millionaire, and secondly
because the sound of my band (Cochabambas) has more Link Wray than Dick
Dale on it. But of course, I won't go as far as to use Gibsons and
Marshalls (some people I know who say they play surf do. Yuck).
As long as you have a good guitar with single coil pickups and a good
clean-sounding amp with a spring reverb everything should be ok.
Dream stuff:
Mosrite guitar, Ventures Model
Gianinni Tremendao amp (Fender Twin clone)
Vox AC 40 amp
Burns guitar (Hank Marvin's)
Tape echo unit.
bizarre guitars from the 60s: Ekos, Hägstroms, old brazilian ones, and so on...
