Thanks for everyone's input, 'sounds' like I can't go wrong with Ted.

Subject: [SurfGuitar101] Re: JBL D120F
I used a Weber VST California 12 ceramic in my Hot Rod Deluxe and really
loved it. I sold
the amp but kept the speaker, so I am dropping two California 12s into my
vintage '73
Aims Dual 12. These high-wattage speakers are clean, punchy, and make for
really good
surf. Definitely a good substitute for the JBL D120F, and I'd bet a fine
substitute for the
D130F too. They get better cranked.
Ted makes a lot of vintage-style speakers in standard sizes, any standard
ohm, and with
AlNiCo, Ceramic, or Ferrous Alloy magnets. He has some low-watt vintage
style speakers
based on the popular tweed speaker types as well as his more high-powered
modern
speakers.
His prices are good, and he will answer your questions about what speakers
you should
use with a timely e-mail or phone call.
I really like Weber as a company, and I think their products are great.
(This is an unsolicited testimonial).
