I don't think the Jap bodies look that bad, infact I haven't even
noticed this, and still really don't see it.
Let me add this: The MIJ and CIJ's are different as far as hardware
goes. I had a early 90s MIJ Jaguar and it was trash. The tuners
were the vintage style ones with the keys that pop on. My 2003 CIJ
has tuners just like the AVs the older MIJ also had smaller saddles
than the ones on my 2003 CIJ do.
I always thought the saddles on the original Jazzmasters were all the
same. The two plain string saddles were made with a finer thread
than they had in previous years starting in '62(the year of the
Jaguar). We all know Fender liked to use up parts so there was a
time for about a year when you'd get bridges with one, two, or three
of the fine threaded saddles.
