Japanese Jaguar Body Shape ---- Pregnant?

These pictures have been really bothering me for some time, and I couldn't
quite put my finger on it, until now. Maybe it's just me, but these bodies
look just a little too bit squished. The lower bout especially looks wrong.
It's too pregnant looking. My American reissue seems to have a much taller
upper horn and a less pronounced lower bout. In general, it seems to be a
bit more sleeker and less "fatter" looking around the lower part. Can anyone
else with an AV RI or vintage Jag comment?
Also, for those of you with Japanese Jaguars/Jazzmasters, do your bridge
saddles have all the same groove widths? Or do you have multiple (3) sizes?
It's my understanding that vintage Jags/JM's had varying sized saddles, at
least during certain years. The AV RI's have all the same size, and the low
E saddle isn't quite wide enough.
Thanks,
BN
