Hi, any more opinions on the new Dick Dale CD? He is the King, and I love
his genre founding works: Misirlou, The Wedge, Shake & Stomp, etc, etc.
However his 90's stuff doesn't always thrill me too much, especially if
singing is involved. I usually get into probably 50% of each of his comeback
CD's. I've never seen him live, but want to. I have heard him live on the
Rendezvous Ballroom Reunion CDs. His tone and playing is still powerful, but
I was kind of dissapointed that he doesn't seem to play a whole song, just
kind of jams around. I wonder what he could do if he had a rhythm guitar
player in a more structured setting. Anyway, just wondering if the new one
is worth getting or checking out. Thanks.
